It is precisely the family that has become the dominant area of analysis and reflection undertaken by the authors of the first issue of the „Legal Culture” magazine. It is a special book. It includes articles concerning the legal and social reflection on the family, which reverberated during successive scientific conferences organised by the Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture. Of major significance are the texts that enriched the above mentioned subject matter with new themes and concepts particularly important in the debate. The content presented to the Reader is an attempt to take a comprehensive view on the family not only from Polish but also from foreign perspective.
The second issue was inspired by the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which persists to inspire researchers even today. The wording of the successive articles of the Declaration motivates us to rethink the extent to which human rights constitute in our times a platform for understanding, that allows to establish communication among people. The authors of the second issue are conscious of those prospects and the threats they imply; that is why they present their personal reflections and seek to know the truth, while pondering upon the contemporary reception of the Declaration and its significance.
